The St. Ambrose University Community Symphony Orchestra
Begun in the fall of 2001, the St. Ambrose University and Community Symphony Orchestra provides SAU students and community musicians an opportunity to perform music of the orchestral repertoire. The orchestra rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. in Madsen Hall in the Galvin Fine Arts Center on the campus of St. Ambrose.
Interested in Joining the Orchestra? We have openings for the following instruments...
Oboe and/or English Horn
Clarinet and/or Bass Clarinet
Bassoon and/or Contrabassoon
All 2011-12 SAUCSO members are automatically members of the orchestra for the current season and do not need to audition for the new Music Director/Conductor. Members new to the orchestra must schedule an audition with the Music Director prior attending rehearsals.
Contact Music Director, Kevin Price-Brenner, to schedule an audition time.
The Symphony rehearses Wednesdays 7:00-9:00pm in Madsen Hall, Galvin Fine Arts Building on the campus of St. Ambrose University (Davenport, IA) while fall/spring classes are in session.
All other sections (those of 2 members) are to hold 1-hour sectionals in available practice rooms or at another time or place. Whether you do choose to meet at 7:00 p.m. or at a different time, please confirm with your section colleagues.
